Given Data:

Head, z1 – z2 = 10 m

Length of pipe 1, L1= 50 m

Length of pipe 2, L2= 20 m

Diameter of pipe 1, D1= 0.11 m

Diameter of pipe 2, D2= 0.25 m

Friction factor f1=0.006

Friction factor f2= 0.03

KL1= KLinlet= 0.35

KL2=KLexit= 1 (treating the joining of the pipes as sudden expansion)

Area of pipe 1 A1= π/4*D12 = 0.785*0.0121= 0.0095 m2

Area of pipe 2 A2= π/4*D22 = 0.785*0.0625= 0.049 m2
